As of 16:00 on September 30, the storm and subsequent flooding had left 27 people dead, 21 missing, and 112 injured across 17 provinces and cities from the northern to central regions.

Due to the impact of typhoon Yagi’s circulation, which has caused heavy rain over several days in northern Vietnam, plus the discharge of water from hydroelectric reservoirs upstream, water levels of the Red River flowing through Hanoi capital are rising quickly, increasing the risk of flooding in riverside areas.

Amidst the serious flooding in some northern localities under the impact of super typhoon Yagi, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has swiftly sought close cooperation with China in flood prevention.
