#former General Secretary

The Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia organised a tribute-paying ceremony for former General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC) Do Muoi on October 4-5.

Foreign leaders have extended messages of condolences to their Vietnamese counterparts over the passing of former General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC) Do Muoi.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has sent a dispatch to heads of ministries, sectors as well as central agencies, organizations, provinces and centrally-run cities on the suspension of entertainment activities during the two-day national mourning for former General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Do Muoi on October 6-7.

The life of Do Muoi, former General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee, is a bright example of diligence, thrift, integrity and selflessness, according to his assistant Phan Trong Kinh. 

Former General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Do Muoi passed away at 23:12 on October 1, 2018, and he will be given a State funeral with two days of national mourning.
