#greater efforts

Amid the current complicated COVID-19 situation, coupled with the rapidly spreading Omicron variant, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has called on the political system, people, and business community to redouble efforts to deal with new difficulties ahead.

The Government’s Steering Committee on Crime Prevention and Control (Steering Committee 138) and the National Steering Committee for Prevention and Fight against Smuggling, Commercial Fraud and Counterfeit Goods (Steering Committee 389) held a conference on July 23 to review their performances of tasks in the first half of 2020 and roll out new plans for the remaining months.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has called for greater efforts to restart the national economy with the aim of achieving a GDP growth rate of over 5 percent and keeping inflation under 4 percent this year.

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has suggested Vietnam and China make greater efforts to well implement the common perceptions reached between their senior leaders, maintain regular high-level meetings and discussions, and effectively uphold cooperation mechanisms.
