After nearly a year of operation, Hanoi's first metro project, the Cat Linh - Ha Dong urban railway has welcomed more than 7.2 million passengers.

Communication works should be carried out in an effective manner to raise public awareness of the important role of the urban railway to the city’s development, according to Chairman of the Hanoi Railway One Member Limited Company Vu Hong Truong.

PSNews - The Hanoi Transportation Service Corporation announced that the company will launch more 13 new bus routes in Hanoi by the end of this year to meet the local demand and reduce traffic jams. 

Hanoi will invest in 10 urban railway routes from now until 2030 with total funds of more than US$40 billion.

PSNews-The Railway Project Management Unit (under the Ministry of Transport) started to open the La Khe Station of the Cat Linh-Ha Dong urban railway project to the public for one month to help people have a closer look at the station, train and the models of all stations along the route.

The Government has told the Ministry of Transport (MoT) to put the Cat Linh-Ha Dong urban railway into operation by the first quarter of 2018.

The Cat Linh – Ha Dong elevated urban railway in Hanoi will begin its test run, expected to last between three and six months, on October 1.

PSNews –The number of “black spots” of traffic congestion on roads in Hanoi have been reduced to 41 in 2016 while 20 out of 44 traffic congestion spots left from 2015 have been completely resolved.

The city is seeking parliamentary approval to implement the first phase of the project with possible loans from Europe.
