By 2030, Vietnam aims to rank among the world’s top 40 in the GII; raise total social investment in R&D to at least 2% of GDP, with non-State funding accounting for over 60%; increase international scientific publications by an average of 10% annually; and raise the number of patent applications and granted patents by an average of 16-18% annually.

A Vietnamese Ambassador to the UN on April 1 presented a document on the nation’s accession to the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) Performances and Phonograms Treaty (WPPT) to Daren Tang, director general of the WIPO, for deposit.

The World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) General Assembly opened its 59th session in Geneva, Switzerland, on September 30, drawing over 1,000 delegates from 191 member countries.
