Recalling President Trump’s words about the image of Hai Ba Trung to emphasize the role of Vietnamese heroes in shaping the future of the country at the APEC Summit in Danang in October 2017, Duong Trung Quoc affirmed that Hai Ba Trung is a symbol of gender equality as well as of the resilience of the Vietnamese women.

"We hope the list of people who have to sacrifice themselves for national independence will not be lengthened in the future," historian Duong Trung Quoc told the visitors, stressing that the Vietnamese is a peace-loving people.
