On the morning of October 26, after talks at the Government Headquarters, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland Donald Tusk met with the press to share key outcomes from the official visit to Viet Nam.
Based on a shared vision and determination to deepen and broaden the Viet Nam–Poland relationship in a comprehensive and substantive manner, the two Prime Ministers adopted a Joint Declaration on establishing the Viet Nam–Poland Strategic Partnership and an Action Plan to strengthen the bilateral partnership for the 2026–2030 period.
A foundation of traditional friendship and political trust
Speaking to the media, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung affirmed that Viet Nam always values and is grateful for the invaluable support and assistance provided by the State and people of Poland throughout Viet Nam’s struggle for national independence, as well as in the country’s construction and development.
Recalling historic milestones in bilateral relations, the Prime Minister mentioned the peace mission of the Kilinski ship, named after Polish national hero Jan Kilinski, which had transported officials, soldiers, students and people to the North from southern Viet Nam during 1954–1955.
Poland’s support is also evident in numerous educational, healthcare, and industrial projects in Viet Nam, notably the Viet Nam–Poland Friendship Hospital in Nghe An, the Viet Nam–Poland High School, and the Ha Long Shipyard in Quang Ninh.
In the cultural sphere, Polish experts have made significant contributions to preserving and restoring many Vietnamese heritage sites, including the Complex of Hue Monuments, Cham towers in Hoi An, and the My Son Sanctuary.
Prime Minister Le Minh Hung especially emphasized the role of generations of Vietnamese alumni who had studied and matured in Poland. This community has helped maintain and strengthen the bond between the two peoples, serving as a bridge to promote bilateral friendship and cooperation.
Assessing the results of the talks, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung noted that both sides had a highly successful meeting, reaching broad consensus in many areas and laying an important foundation for implementing specific cooperation programs in the near future.
Advancing bilateral relations in a substantive and effective manner
For his part, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk expressed his gratitude for the warm and esteamed welcome extended by Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and the Vietnamese friends to the high-level Polish delegation.
According to the Polish Prime Minister, despite fluctuations in the international situation, Viet Nam–Poland relations have maintained positive momentum, grounded in historical ties, the friendship between the two peoples, and the achievements of bilateral cooperation.
He particularly acknowledged the role and contributions of the Vietnamese community in Poland, considering it one of the key factors in enhancing mutual understanding and strengthening ties between the two countries.
Building on the foundation of long-standing friendship, close people-to-people ties, and recent positive cooperation outcomes, the Polish Prime Minister expressed confidence that bilateral relations would continue to develop in a deeper, more effective, and substantive direction, to be realized through concrete actions and practical cooperation programs.
Affirming that Viet Nam is one of Poland’s most important partners in Asia, Prime Minister Donald Tusk stressed that the establishment of the Strategic Partnership not only recognizes the achievements of past cooperation but also creates a new framework for the two countries to further expand and deepen their bilateral relationship in the coming period.
