Vietnam and China to strengthen crime control cooperation

The Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam offered the red-carpet reception to delegates of the Ministry of Public Security of China.

The reception was held in the afternoon of September 25th in Hanoi. 

The Chinese delegation headed by Public Security Minister Guo Shengkun, one of the five State Councilor.

Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, member of Poliburo, Minister of Public Security of Vietnam chaired the welcome ceremony. 

The two sides’ delegates participated in talks after the reception.

Addressing the talk, Minister Lam spoke highly of the achievements gained by the Chinese people as well as merits of the Ministry of Public Security of China, contributing to ensuring their national security, social order and safety.

In the recent time, the Vietnam-Sino strategic comprehensive partnership has achieved developments in various areas.

Both sides have made various attempts to develop the fine mutual ties for fundamental and long-term interests of the two peoples.

He hoped the friendship between the two countries will enjoy further achievements in the future.

Chinese Minister of Public Security expressed his sincere gratitude for the kind reception offered by the Vietnamese Minister.

He showed his pleasure over the sound cooperation between the two countries as well as the two Ministries in particular, gaining developments and practical achievements in various fields.

The Chinese Minister expressed his hope for better cooperation between the two Ministries in the time to come with further practical achievements and development, contributing to strengthening the mutual partnership and friendship.

The two Ministers co-chaired the 5th Conference on Crime Prevention and Suppression Cooperation between the two Ministries.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Lam reviewed the fine cooperation outcomes of the two sides since 2014.

He also proposed orientation for cooperation for the two ministries towards 2018.

As planned by Mr. Lam, both sides will continue to exchange delegations at various levels to discuss issues of mutual concerns or relating to security and law enforcement.

Information and experience exchanges are expected to be further enhanced for better response to activities of hostile forces.

The two sides are supposed to further cooperate to prevent and suppress organized and transnational crimes, particularly terrorism, cyber-crime, human trafficking or drug-related crime, etc.

The Conference wrapped up with the signing of the “Memorandum of Conference” and other 5 cooperation agreements among local public security forces.
