The Deputy PM thanked the Chinese Government for its effective support for Vietnamese businesses and localities to participate in the fair.

Hailing recent strides in the two countries’ bilateral relations, Deputy PM Binh confirmed that the Vietnamese Party and Government attach importance to enhancing cooperation and friendship with China and consider this as one of the top priorities in Vietnam’s foreign policy.

He asked the two sides to continue effectively implementing the important common perceptions the two countries’ leaders have reached, and coordinate with each other to prepare for high-level visits and meetings, especially a State visit to Vietnam and attendance of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting by General Secretary and President Xi Jinping later this year.

Vietnam and China should promote substantive progress in all spheres of co-operation, promptly tackle difficulties and further improve the quality of co-operation in economics, trade, investment and finance. They also need to expand cooperation in agriculture, nuclear safety, environmental protection, water resources management, climate change response and railway transport connectivity, the Vietnamese Deputy PM noted.

Deputy PM then praised China's "One Belt, One Road" initiative and affirmed that Vietnam is ready to actively promote the link between the initiative and the "Two corridors, One belt" framework.

Regarding sea-related issues, the Vietnamese Deputy PM requested both sides to comply with the agreements and the important common perceptions reached by leaders of the two Parties and States to control sea-related disagreements; not to complicate the situation; to strictly carry out the agreement on “Basic principles guiding the settlement of sea-related issues”; to fully and effectively implement the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea/South China Sea (DOC), and to promote sea-related negotiation mechanisms to soon reach substantive progress.

For his part, Chinese Deputy Premier Zhang Gaoli warmly welcomed the Vietnamese delegation’s participation in the 14th CAEXPO and the CABIS. He considered that the Vietnamese participation in the events has demonstrated Vietnam’s respect for the two countries’ relations as well as the China-ASEAN co-operation and will contribute to the expo’s success.

The Chinese Deputy PM affirmed that the Chinese Party and Government attach importance to the relation with Vietnam, saying the country will join hand with Vietnam to maintain high-level meetings, intensify political trust, bolster substantive co-operation, strengthen the traditional friendship, good control of disagreement, and promote the Chinese-Vietnamese comprehensive strategic partnership for sustainable, healthy and sustainable development.

On the same day, Deputy PM Truong Hoa Binh and the Vietnam’s delegation attended the opening ceremony for Vietnam’s national pavilion and pavilion of trade at the 14th CAEXPO.

At this fair, 120 Vietnamese enterprises will showcase their product at 250 booths covering 5,000sq.m, which are also the largest trading booths among ASEAN countries participating in the event. The main products on display include agricultural products, processed food, footwear, consumer goods, household appliances, wood products and handicrafts.

Also on September 11, at the Huu Nghi International Border Gate, Lang Son Province (Vietnam), Deputy PM Truong Hoa Binh has announced to open the dedicated freight route connecting the two countries' borders.

The route marks a milestone in boosting exchanges and economic cooperation between Lang Son province and Guangxi province in particular and between Vietnam and China in general.
