Vietnam Innovation Golden Book 2018 makes its debut

Vietnam Innovation Golden Book 2018, which consists of 73 prominent innovation projects in science and technology, debuted in Hanoi on August 30 in the presence of President Tran Dai Quang.

The book encompasses scientific and technological creativity works of authors or groups of authors who have been prize winners at the contests hosted by ministries, sectors, Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) member organizations and centrally-run provinces and cities since 2016.

In his speech at the launch ceremony, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, President Tran Dai Quang praised the outstanding achievements scientists and technologists have recorded over recent years and warmly congratulated 73 authors and author groups for their works, solutions for scientific and technological innovation which got selected for announcement in the Vietnam Innovation Golden Book 2018.

Scientific and technological staff should continue to thoroughly grasp Party and State guidelines and policies on the development of science and technology along with promoting research projects and raise the quality and efficiency of the adoption of science and technology to serve the development of modern production force and the knowledge-based economy, and raise the competitiveness of the national economy in association with ensuring environmental protection, and national defense and security.

“The 4th industrial revolution will affect Vietnam, therefore, ministries, sectors, localities, organizations, and businesses need to continue developing human resources in science and technology, nurture and reward young talents who will make great contributions to Vietnam’s scientific and technological development. A favorable working environment should be created for scientists to develop their talents and receive earnings that match their innovative works. Freedom of research and creativity should be respected.”

The launch ceremony of Vietnam Innovation Golden Book 2018 was organized by the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, and the Ministry of Science and Technology.
