Vietnamese tank team takes on first competition day

PSNews - The tank team of the Vietnam People’s Army on August 24 competed in the qualifying round of the “Tank Biathlon” contest at the Alabino training ground in Russia.

In the contest, the Vietnamese tank team competed with its rivals from Myanmar, South Ossetia, and Quatar. According to the final results of the first competition day, the Vietnamese team ranked second as it finished the track in 32 minutes 20 seconds. South Ossetia's team ranked first as it finished in 31 minutes 49 seconds.

In this event, Vietnamese tank crews drive yellow tanks, while Myanmar team uses blue tanks, the team from Qatar selects the red ones, and the South Ossetia team uses green tanks.  The competition attracted a lot of viewers with impressive performances by the tank teams.

Earlier, on the afternoon of August 23 (local time) at the Alabino training grounds, Lieutenant General Ngo Minh Tien, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, visited and encouraged all members of Vietnamese tank team.

The Army Games 2020, running from August 23-29, hosted by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation marks the third time that the Vietnamese People's Army has sent their forces to participate. This year's event sees the largest number of Vietnamese teams participating in the games.

Over the past time, the teams have made efforts to overcome all difficulties in weather conditions, fields, weapons, and training techniques that are different from the actual competitions, to strive to achieve the best results at the Army Games 2020. All of the teams are determined to promote the achievements earned in 2019 and try their best to achieve high rankings at the Army Games 2020.
