Deputy PM Truong Hoa Binh presents Tet gifts to Ho Chi Minh City and Tra Vinh residents

PSNews – Politburo member, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh on January 26 visited and presented New Year gifts to policy beneficiaries and poor people in Can Giuoc district, Long An province, and Cham ethnic people in Ho Chi Minh city.

The Deputy Prime Minister was accompanied by Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs Le Son Hai and Deputy Head of the Governmental Committee for Religious Affairs Tran Tan Hung as well as Senior Colonel Tran Kim Tham, Deputy Editor in Chief of the Public Security Newspaper and the benefactors.

In Can Giuoc district, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh and the delegation presented 1,500 New Year gifts, 30 bicycles, and 10 computer sets, two houses of gratitude valued at 1.3 billion VND to Vietnamese heroic mothers, heroes of armed forces, poor students and policy beneficiaries.

Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh also extended New Year greetings to all local people.

Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh realized good socio-economic development in the region. He urged the local authority to further efforts to improve people's lives.

In District 8, Ho Chi Minh City, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh presented more than 350 gifts, worth 700,000 VND each, to Cham ethnic people, and granted 100 scholarships, valued at one million VND each, to Cham and Khmer ethnic students.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh extended warm New Year greetings to all Cham and Khmer ethnic people. He urged organizations and businesses to generate more jobs and produce more consumer goods and exports. He hoped the Cham community would keep supporting each other in life and preserve their good traditions.

On behalf of the local Cham people in the city, Chief Representative of the Muslim community Ly Du So promised that the Cham community would continue to promote unity, work harder for a more prosperous community, and to join hand with the whole city in promoting socio-economic development.
