The commendation was made by Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat and permanent member of the group in charge of preparing documents for the 13th National Party Congress, at a working session on March 16 with Quang Ninh officials.

Chinh noted the high growth rate of the province, at 7.6 percent each year during 2011-2015, 10.5 percent a year during 2016-2018, and expected to average 11.1 percent annually for 2016-2020. The per capita income in the province rose 2.3 times from 2010 to reach more than 5,000 USD in 2018.

In particular, the province has accelerated economic restructuring in parallel with renewing the growth model and shifting to sustainable development. It has led the country in carrying out the One Commune, One Product programme as part of the new-style rural area building efforts.

Quang Ninh is also at the front in implementing administrative reforms, piloting many innovative ideas in political, economic, cultural, social affairs as well as in security-defence and external relations.

Chinh stressed that the experiences accumulated by Quang Ninh over the past 10 years are extremely useful in the drafting of documents for the upcoming National Party Congress.

He also took note of proposals and recommendations from the province in order to report to the document drafting group.

The official also made a field trip to Van Don economic zone in Quang Ninh.
