#National Target Programme

On the afternoon of November 27th, the National Assembly (NA) passed a resolution on the investment policy for the National Target Programme on Drug Prevention and Control until 2030 with an absolute majority of votes in favour.

National Assembly (NA) deputies will discuss the national target programme on cultural development for the 2025-2035 period on June 19 as part of the legislature's 7th session.

Vietnam will complete the five-year target of the National Target Programme on New-Style Rural Area Building by the end of the second quarter of 2019, with at least half of all communes completing all criteria of the programme.

The National Target Programme on New-style Rural Area Building for 2018 has achieved its set targets three months earlier than planned, said Nguyen Minh Tien, head of the programme’s Central Coordination Office.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has approved a national target programme on education for ethnic minority, mountainous and disadvantaged areas across the country between 2016 and 2020.

Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue, head of the Steering Committee for National Target Programmes, has handed over the Prime Minister’s decisions recognising four districts of the northern provinces of Nam Dinh as new-style rural areas.

A conference was held in the northern province of Vinh Phuc on November 15 to review a Swiss-funded project on community management in the national target programme on building new - style rural areas.

The National Assembly heard explanations presented by two ministers on policies for ethnic minorities and mountainous regions, and the environmental impacts of power plants, among other issues, at the November 3 morning session.
