NA Standing Committee to convene 55th session in March

This is the first time a Letter of Intent has been signed between the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam and the European Commission to implement cooperation comprehensively, from qualification recognition in education and training to skills development in the new period.

Lawmakers then will hold group discussions on the draft law on compulsory purchase and requisition of property, the draft law on legal normative documents and the implementation report.

Trung highlighted the positive development of Vietnam-Belgium relations over the past more than five decades since the establishment of diplomatic ties, particularly following the state visit to Vietnam by the Belgian King and Queen in April 2025. He affirmed that Vietnam attaches importance to friendship and cooperation with Belgium, an important partner in Europe.

The two sides agreed to expand cooperation in economics, trade, investment, science and technology, innovation, energy transition, the green economy, the marine economy, education and training, and people-to-people exchanges.

On regional and international issues, both leaders agreed to coordinate closely at multilateral forums, uphold multilateralism and international law, and promote free, smooth and unhindered trade. They also underscored the importance of ensuring freedom of navigation and overflight in accordance with international law, particularly the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), thus contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and sustainable development in the region and the world.

Cooperation should go beyond expanding trade and investment to improving its quality, increasing technological content, raising development standards and competitiveness, and strengthening the position of businesses from both sides in global value chains, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President To Lam said.

VGP - Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk is set to pay an official visit to Viet Nam from October 24-26, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Wednesday.

Since establishing diplomatic relations on November 28, 1990, Vietnam and the EU have developed increasingly close ties. The upgrade to the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during President of the European Council António Costa's visit to Vietnam in January 2026 marked a historic milestone, making Vietnam the first ASEAN member state to establish the highest-level partnership framework with the EU.

In an interview with the People's Public Security Newspaper ahead of General Secretary and President To Lam’s visit to the Kingdom of Belgium, Belgian Ambassador to Viet Nam Pieter Leenknegt emphasized that this is a historic moment for the two countries to usher in a new chapter of substantive cooperation. As sincere and trusted partners, Belgium and the European Union (EU) stand ready to accompany Viet Nam on its journey towards green and digital transformation, while strengthening strategic connection between ASEAN and the EU.

The draft amended Land Law aims to fully and promptly institutionalise the Party's views and guidelines set forth in Resolution No. 21-NQ/TW regarding perspectives and directions for revising this law and related legislation.

Both sides agreed to maintain exchanges of delegations, regular contacts and consultations at all levels, make effective use of existing cooperation mechanisms.

General Secretary and President Lam affirmed that the Vietnamese community abroad has remained closely connected with the country's development throughout its various stages. They have worked hard to build increasingly stable and prosperous lives and integrate into their host societies while preserving their Vietnamese identity.

The leaders agreed to adopt a Joint Statement on the establishment of the Vietnam-Denmark Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, opening a new chapter in bilateral relations and creating a new political framework and fresh momentum for deeper, more substantive cooperation for the long-term benefit of the two peoples, as well as for peace, stability, cooperation, and sustainable development in their respective regions and the wider world.

The General Secretary and President said that the experience of Lynetteholm showed that a climate change adaptation project could be designed to simultaneously create new development space, enhance coastal landscapes, generate ecological value and deliver socio-economic benefits.

The visits are expected to consolidate political trust, deepen relations with the two partners and translate existing high-level commitments into concrete, practical actions, laying the groundwork for a new and higher stage of development in Vietnam's relations with the EU and Belgium.

General Secretary and President To Lam and Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen agreed that economic, trade, and investment cooperation is an important pillar of the newly formed Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

The Embassy of Denmark in Viet Nam posted a video on its official Facebook page, on October 19, featuring Danish Ambassador to Viet Nam Lina Gandløse Hansen, who highlightes the significance of the visit by Viet Nam’s General Secretary and President To Lam to Denmark, at the invitation of King Frederik X, to Denmark-Viet Nam relations.

General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and President To Lam delivered a policy speech at the University of Copenhagen on October 19 afternoon (local time).

Both leaders welcomed the positive development of the bilateral relations, particularly since the establishment of the Comprehensive Partnership in 2013 and the Green Strategic Partnership in 2023. Economic, trade and investment cooperation has continued to expand, with Danish companies such as LEGO, Pandora and Carlsberg operating and expanding their business in Vietnam, contributing to socio-economic development, job creation, technology transfer and sustainable green growth.

General Secretary and President To Lam stressed that looking back over the past 55 years, from standing together through difficult times, Vietnam and Denmark have built deep mutual trust, paving the way for a new horizon of cooperation.
