The Vietnamese leader affirmed that Australia is a trusted friend and a Comprehensive Strategic Partner with growing stature, sharing many strategic interests and common priorities with Vietnam, including inclusive development, green transition, digital economy and strategic autonomy.

For the 2026–2030 period, key targets for Vietnam include average annual GDP growth of at least 10%; per-capita GDP of about 8,500 USD by 2030; manufacturing and processing accounting for roughly 28% of GDP; the digital economy contributing around 30% of GDP.

The Ministry of Science and Technology reported that by 2025, 5G had been commercialised nationwide, covering more than 90% of the population. Viettel alone has deployed 30,000 5G base stations, achieving 90% outdoor coverage and 70% indoor coverage, exceeding its commitments to the Government.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc affirmed that the valuable experience of the Netherlands in building and managing residential database and enhancing digital transformation will help Vietnam step up the building of a digital economy, a green economy, and a circular economy, contributing to socio-economic development of Vietnam.

Several foreign media outlets have recently published articles highlighting the various prospects and numerous challenges to the logistics industry and smart rural areas in the country.

Italy attaches great importance to further developing its strategic partnership with Vietnam, a leading partner of Italy in ASEAN, President Sergio Mattarella told newly accredited Vietnamese ambassador Duong Hai Hung at a reception on May 12.
