Receiving Pillen in Hanoi on July 13, Chinh affirmed that Vietnam considers the US one of its top important partners and looks forward to promoting its Comprehensive Partnership with the US as well as with its localities, including Nebraska.

He appreciated Nebraska strengthening cooperation with Vietnam and proposed that the US state share its development experience with the Southeast Asian nation.

The two sides should enhance economic, trade and investment cooperation, especially the exchange of their key agricultural products, and at the same time expand cooperation to other potential fields, such as education-training, science-technology, innovation, high technology, finance, banking and climate change response, said Chinh.

He also proposed that Nebraska creates conditions for the Vietnamese community to well integrate into the local community.

Governor Pillen for his part affirmed that Nebraska wants to expand cooperation with Vietnam as well as its localities in the areas suggested by the PM.

He told his host that Nebraska has increased its export of key agricultural products to Vietnam, including corn, soybeans, beef and other dry grain products. Last January, officials of Nebraska visited Vietnam discussing the possibility of expanding cooperation in the fields of education - training and science - technology.

Pillen highly appreciated Vietnam’s future orientation to develop high-tech agriculture and animal husbandry, and said Nebraska would assist Vietnam in this field, especially technology transfer.

He also spoke highly of Vietnam’s climate change commitments, and said Nebraska stays ready to increase cooperation with Vietnam in this field.
