Speaking at the meeting, Do Thang Hai, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade shared, the introduction of the White Paper reflects a part of MoIT's efforts to implement Resolution No.23-NQ/TW by the Party’s Central Committee on the country’s industrial development by 2030 with a vision to 2045.
The paper is the result of a co-operation project between the ministry and the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) with support from the South Korean government.
Deputy Minister Do Thang Hai emphasized that Vietnam's manufacturing and processing industry has increasingly affirming its important role in the economic development. As a result, Vietnam has quickly improved its position in the global industrial competition rankings published by UNIDO every year.
He hoped in the coming time, UNIDO and the South Korean Government will continuously collaborate with MoIT in building the capacity of policy making for public employees of the Ministry and relevant organizations and agencies.
Le Thi Thanh Thao, UNIDO Country Representative in Vietnam, said industrial competition is the main growth momentum in developing countries as a competitive industry will accelerate the structural shifting that is a decisive factor in national development and poverty reduction.
She pledged to further coordinate with the MoIT in industrial development in Vietnam.
