The small car segment has seen additional Toyota Wigo and Suzuki Celerio along with the Hyundai Grand i10 model and Kia Morning model.

Meanwhile, in the mid-size hatchback segment, Honda has brought the Jazz model to compete with the Toyota Yaris.

For the MPV segment, Toyota has all three classes: small, medium and large. While the Toyota Innova model is overwhelming its rivals in the mid-size MPV segment, the new Toyota Avanza model is believed to put pressure on the Suzuki Ertiga model in small-size MPV market.

In the large MPV segment, the Toyota Alphard model is still proved to be a heavyweight for Honda Odyssey cars. In addition, Toyota has brought to the show the latest version of Corolla Altis.

At this year’s event, Chevrolet has introduced the new mid-size SUV Trailblazer model to Vietnamese customers. The Trailblazer model uses the same chassis technology with Colorado and two Isuzu models, the MU-X and the D-Max. In addition to the MU-X Limited Editions, this year's Isuzu's pavilion is attractive with its MotorHome model.

Ford and Nissan did not bring any new models or upgrades to Vietnam Motor Show 2017, but continued to exhibit a number of car accessories.

Hybrid models continues to be the trend of its products that Toyota Vietnam would like to introduce to Vietnamese customers. The Prius model has been showcased for the third consecutive year.

Meanwhile, Lexus showcases the two luxury models of LS 500h and LC 500h, which has caused a big surprise since they were released to foreign markets a few months ago.

Chevrolet joins this segment with the electric-powered Bolt EV model, one of electric car models with longer-life batteries.

The event will run from 2 to 5 August at the Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center, Ho Chi Minh City.
