Chinese security officer receives medal from Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security

PSNews – Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security, on December 11 received the Ambassador of China to Vietnam, Xiong Ba.

At the reception, Deputy Minister Thanh congratulated Xiong on his new position as the Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh also emphasized that the Party, State and Government of Vietnam always attach importance to developing a stable, healthy and sustainable relationship with China, and consider China a priority in Vietnam’s foreign policy on the basis of independence, self-reliance, diversification and multilateralization for peace, cooperation and development.

The Deputy Minister emphasized that the cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) of Vietnam and Chinese law enforcement agencies has achieved good results, contributing to protecting the Communist Party, socialist regime and political stability of each country, and the peaceful and happy life of each people.

The security cooperation between the two sides  serves as one of the pillars in the Vietnam and China comprehensive strategic cooperation partnership.

Ambassador Xiong thanked Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh for his kind reception, and expressed his pleasure at taking the post as Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam. He also affirmed that he would do his best in his new position to promote bilateral relations and cooperation between Vietnam and China.

After the reception, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh also chaired a ceremony to present a “National Security Protection” medal to Mr. Wang Ji Zhou, Chief Representative of the Ministry of State Security (MSS) of China in recognition of his contribution to promoting the relations between the two Ministries in particular and between the two countries in general.
