At the reception, Minister To Lam emphasized that the cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) of Vietnam and law enforcement agencies of RoK, including the National Police Agency, in the past few years has seen positive developments, particularly since the two sides signed the Cooperation Agreement in Hanoi in May 2005.

On that basis, both sides have effectively implemented all contents of the cooperation agreement and gained significant results, serving as an important pillar for the Vietnam – RoK Strategic Partnership, and contributing to promoting the bilateral relationship to a new height.
Minister To Lam also asked the NPA to further support Vietnam in criminal investigation techniques, crime control and criminal justice; and extent the scope of cooperation to the fields that both sides have potentials and needs.

He also suggested both sides promote exchange of information, professional experience, and coordinate closely in criminal cases in order to effectively prevent crimes, especially terrorism, transnational and organized crime, drug-related crime, human trafficking and hi-tech crime.

Furthermore, the two sides should ensure security and safety for organizations and citizens of the one country in the other country.

Minister Lam also highly appreciated the Lab specializing in analysing prints, traces of feet and shoes, which was inaugurated on the same day under the sponsorship of the NPA.

Mr. Lim HoSeon thanked Minister Lam for his reception and expressed his delight at the fine developments in the relations between the two countries as well as cooperation between the MPS and the NPA.

He also wished that the cooperation between the two ministerial-level agencies would further expand in all aspects and gain more achievements, contributing to promoting the relations between the two countries.
