Russian ambassador to India Alexander M Kadakin said that Russia had always supported India in its fight against the cross border terrorism.

"I am always with India to opposing and fighting the cross border terrorism and we stand for the government they have to take steps," Alexander Kadakin told to an Indian news channel.
He further added that, we are against the terrorist attacks across the border against India.
"The greatest human rights violations take place when terrorists attack military installations and attack peaceful civilians in India. We welcome the surgical strike. Every country has the right to defend itself," Alexander Kadakin told.
The Russian envoy also assured India that the recent Russia-Pakistan military drill will not have any impact on the decades-old Russia-India relations.
"India should not be concerned at all because it is a normal practice amongst states to have military exercises. This is in India's interest that we will be teaching the Pakistani army how not uses army for the terror attacks. And moreover the exercise was not held in any of the sensitive or the problematic territories or in the Pakistan Occupied Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir," Ambassador Kadakin added.
Last week the Russian Foreign Ministry had issued a statement on the developing situation between Pakistan and India in disputed Kashmir. It said, "We are concerned with the aggravation lately of the situation along the line of control between India and Pakistan. We are calling on the parties not to allow any escalation of tension and to settle the existing problems by political and diplomatic means through negotiations.
Kashmir, a disputed territory, has been a bone of contention between India and Pakistan ever since the partition of the country in 1947. But tensions are high on both the sides in the spate of terror attacks in India and subsequent surgical strike by the Indian army across the border. India claims that the terrorists come from Pakistan.
