Deputy Health Minister Nguyen Truong Son, head of the ministry’s taskforce to support HCM City in COVID-19 prevention and control said, the city is struggling to contain its largest outbreak despite serious prevention measures. Despite the number of cases, the city is on the right track. In particular, the top priority is to save patients with serious health conditions and reduce fatalities.

As reported, Around 10,000 vials of Remdesivir have been distributed to 10 hospitals in Ho Chi Minh city to treat COVID-19 patients starting today.

The ministry noted that through donation sources in the past, the drug appears to help reduce the viral load in the infected, but cautioned that members of public should not look for or stock up on these drugs.

The administration and the doses required must be indicated by doctors.
