Two Vietnamese companies awarded “Primaduta Award” from the Government of Indonesia

Indonesian Ambassador to Vietnam Ibnu Hadi on behalf of 2 Vietnamese companies, received the "Primaduta Award" which was handed over directly by Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla on 16 October during the opening of Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2019 at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition - ICE BSD City, Tangerang. 

The Primaduta Award is a form of appreciation from the Government of Indonesia for the loyalty and commitment of importers in buying Indonesian products.  This year, the awards were given to 45 companies from 31 countries.  The two Vietnamese importing companies won award in the Main Market Group categories: Manufacturing / Industrial Products.  Their imported goods are Automotive and Parts (Totoya Motors Vietnam) and Rubber Mat (Vietnam Suzuki Corp).

Indonesian Ambassador to Vietnam Ibnu Hadi welcomed the award which was the first time for Vietnam. "This award is a new achievement in the bilateral relations between Indonesia and Vietnam that is inseparable from the good cooperation between Vietnamese importers and Indonesian product exporters facilitated by the Indonesian Embassy in Hanoi," he said.

Indonesia - Vietnam trade figures continue to increase every year.  In 2018, both countries’ bilateral trade increase by around 30% to USD 8.46 billion from the previous year of USD 6.5 billion.

To increase trade figures and reach the target of bilateral trade values reaching USD 10 billion in 2020, the Indonesian Embassy in Hanoi in facilitated 29 Vietnamese companies to attend Trade Expo Indonesia 2019 which took place from 16-20 October 2019. The 29 companies are engaged in potential sectors such as fisheries, agriculture, pharmaceutical, manufacturing / industrial, garment and furniture. Meanwhile, Indonesia's main export commodities to Vietnam include automotive and parts, coal, electrical machinery/ equipment, vegetable fats as well as oils and paper.

Indonesian Ambassador to Hanoi Ibnu Hadi revealed that the demand for information on Indonesian commodities and business opportunities continues to increase. This is a good indicator in the midst of global economic uncertainty. "With this positive trend, we are optimistic that the value of bilateral trade can exceeds USD 10 billion by 2020," he said.
