VRT&CON' 2026 drew global technology “giants” and well-known firms from the UK, Austria, Germany, France, Japan, South Korea, Sweden, and China. It also put the Security Industry Department in the spotlight as a professional advisor, a supporting partner, and the direct host of internationally significant scientific conference sessions.
The large-scale pavilion, featuring dozens of advanced technology products from Vietnamese public security enterprises, not only affirmed the science and technology potential of the Vietnam's Public Security Forces but also clearly demonstrated the security industry's dual-use industrial capability, contributing effectively to socio-economic development and the safeguarding of national security.
An affirmation of the dual-use industrial capability of the Public Security Forces
Following the success of the first exhibition in November 2025, VRT&CON' 2026 was held on a breakthrough scale this year, nearly twice the size of last year’s, with almost 300 booths on display.
The event attracted a host of world-famous railway technology groups from Germany, France, Japan, South Korea, and other countries. Some participants included Herrenknecht AG (Germany) with its TBM tunnel boring machine technology; Hodapp GmbH & Co. KG (Germany) with technical doors and fire-resistant emergency exit doors; Thales (France) presenting smart signaling and advanced traffic management solutions; as well as Funkwerk Systems GmbH, DEUTA-WERKE GmbH, FOGTEC Brandschutz (Germany), Korea Flame Proof Technology (South Korea), and others.
Those leading global enterprises presented many advanced products and solutions, with displays focused on five core technology groups: infrastructure construction technology; operations management and optimization; information, signaling and safety assurance systems; railway vehicle technology; and management of stations and depots integrated with smart urban development. The last refers to a model that pairs urban rail maintenance facilities with modern urban complexes built around public transport.
Under the theme “Connecting Technology – Expanding Cooperation,” the Security Industry Department demonstrated its outstanding strengths through a 108.2 m² exhibition booth.
The enterprises affiliated with the Department, namely Thanh Binh – BCA One Member Co., Ltd. (Thanh Binh Company), BCA-Thang Long One Member Co., Ltd. (Thang Long Company), 19-5 One Member Co., Ltd. of the Ministry of Public Security (Company 19-5), and Nam Trieu One Member Co., Ltd. (Nam Trieu Company), presented an ecosystem of dozens of modern dual-use technology products with high potential for practical civilian application.
Thanh Binh Company exhibited a product ecosystem for monitoring, control, and security assurance, fire prevention and fighting, and search and rescue for the railway sector. This included the LoRa FIRE-AI fire alarm system, central control panels, manual call points, alarm sirens and lights, smoke and heat detectors, fire alarm signal transmission devices, escape and rescue kits, fire-resistant blankets and materials, escape masks, and many types of fire extinguishers. These products can be used directly at stations, underground stations, train carriages, depots, control centers, railway tunnels, and technical areas, supporting early fire detection, warning, on-site firefighting, and evacuation.
In addition, Thanh Binh Company also exhibited handheld metal detectors, restricted-zone alarm devices, the E-Finger biometric fingerprint digitization system, the E-Patrol intelligent patrol recording and monitoring system, the E-Trace positioning and monitoring system, the EVMS centralized camera management system, AI Box image-processing units, and devices for verifying citizen ID cards/electronic passports and facial recognition. These products can control access to stations and depots, protect restricted areas, monitor railway corridors, manage cameras centrally, detect anomalies, and support railway security patrols.
Thang Long Company showcased specialized equipment and solutions for communications, security control, and target protection. These include the DMR Tier 3 radio system, using digital trunked radio technology, which can serve communications among dispatch, operations, engineering, maintenance, security, fire prevention, and rescue forces across a wide railway network with many points of activity.
The company also displayed walk-through metal detector gates and electronic devices, gas masks, eavesdropping-device detectors, disguised cameras, mobile under-vehicle inspection devices, and reconnaissance robots, all applicable at stations, depots, control centers and other critical infrastructure areas. The gates support access control, while the under-vehicle inspection devices and reconnaissance robots transmit images from dangerous areas and underground tunnels before authorities approach.
Company 19-5 presented garments, work uniforms, footwear, raincoats, and specialized protective equipment. The company has already received orders to supply uniforms for workers operating at heights in the railway sector, demonstrating its capability to participate in the supply chain of materials and personal equipment for the transport sector.
Nam Trieu Company displayed two patrol and control boat models, showcasing its capabilities in mechanical design and manufacturing and system integration. Presenting waterway patrol vessels at a railway technology exhibition demonstrates the potential for cooperation and the transfer of vessel-manufacturing technology between transport sectors.
Security Industry Reaches New Heights In International Cooperation
According to Major General Luu Hong Quang, Director of the Security Industry Department, proactively supporting and directly hosting international-level scientific conference activities, as well as taking part in the exhibition at VRT&CON’ 2026, is of great significance to the Department and its affiliated units. It is not only an opportunity to present research and production achievements and affirm the science and technology potential of the Vietnam’s Public Security Forces, but also a platform for the Department and Vietnam's public security enterprises to engage and exchange experience with partners, enterprises, and leading technology groups worldwide.
Through VRT&CON’ 2026, the Security Industry Department highlighted its dual-use industrial capability and its ability to apply vehicle-manufacturing technologies and techniques, security and surveillance systems, signaling and communications, and fire prevention and fighting to transport and national infrastructure development, as well as to other socio-economic fields, serving societal needs rather than being limited to specialized People’s Public Security Forces products.
In particular, one of the Department’s key highlights at VRT&CON’ 2026 was its coordination with HTECH (Innovation Stage) to directly host Seminar No. 5, themed “Modern Shipbuilding Technology – Trends, Solutions and Cooperation Opportunities.”
Sharing about the seminar, Deputy Director of the Security Industry Department Major General Pham Van Hieu stated: “This is one of the concrete steps by the Security Industry Department to urgently implement Resolution 20-NQ/TW dated July 28, 2026, of the Politburo on building and developing Viet Nam into a strong maritime nation. The seminar drew the participation of a large number of experts, scientists, and domestic and international corporations and enterprises.”
Through the seminar, the parties identified requirements, shared technical solutions, and opened up opportunities for cooperation and manufacturing technology transfer between waterway and railway transport. The seminar also affirmed the security industry's core role, initiative, and professional credibility in international integration and cooperation.
The success of VRT&CON’ 2026, together with the Security Industry Department’s active and comprehensive participation, affirmed its role as an important bridge between the safety needs of national infrastructure projects and the production capacity of the security industry. It also reaffirmed the Department’s steady progress in proactively connecting technology and expanding international cooperation, and its readiness to contribute production capacity and effective technical solutions to key infrastructure projects in the country’s new development period.
