Vietnam has become one of the most popular destinations in Southeast Asia, as tourists enjoy the county's diverse landscapes, beaches, mountainous rice terraces and bustling cities.

Recently, the Travel, a well-known travel site in Canada, has ranked Vietnam in the fifth place on a list of the top 10 most attractive destinations in Asia.According to the magazine, Vietnam is one of the most peaceful countries in the world.

Vietnam is home to a plethora of natural wonders. Among the most notable of these are the limestone islands with unique shapes in Ha Long Bay, Phong Nha Cave in Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, and the charming rivers in the Mekong Delta.

Additionally, Vietnam boasts vast paddy fields and bustling floating markets, both of which are must-visit destinations.

The Southeast Asian country is also home to architectural works, with century-old historical and cultural imprints, that are sure to leave a lasting impression on visitors. Other countries in Asia on the list include Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, Laos, the Republic of Korea, the Philippines, Singapore, and China.

Meanwhile, according to a report by UK-based adventure travel company Explore Worldwide, Hanoi has been ranked first in the list of the top 20 trending cities for solo travel while Ho Chi Minh City ranked sixth.

By analysing Google search data from the last two years, the company has determined the places that are seeing the biggest uplift in solo travel online searches.

Hanoi saw a 946% rise in year-on-year solo travel searches, followed by Bangkok (816%), China's Taipei (692%), Seoul (533%), and Phnom Penh (500%). Ho Chi Minh City ranked sixth with a solo travel search increase of 480%.

According to the Explore Worldwide, when in Hanoi – an ancient and vibrant city, solo travellers can dive into the colourful busy streets of the Old Quarter, rubbing shoulders with the locals in a maze of narrow streets filled with shoppers, traders, cafes and restaurants.

The popularity of Vietnam is showing in the number of international arrivals. The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism announced that the country had welcomed over 5.5 million foreign visitors in the first six months of 2023, already exceeding the total number of international arrivals in 2022.

Vietnam's tourist sector has set a target of 8 million visitors for the remainder of 2023, however, the tourism bureau has since predicted the numbers will likely rise to 10 million.

The country recently approved a new visa policy for international visitors arriving in the country, tripling visa waivers from 15 to 45 days for selected countries. And for visitors from countries eligible to apply for an electronic visa to Vietnam, visas will now be valid for up to 90 days with single or multiple entries.
