During the period, courts dealt with 193,133 out of 304,348 cases they received, or 63.5%. Most of the remaining are in the process of settlement.

The figures represented year-on-year increases of 13,582 cases sent to the courts, and 6,821 resolved cases.

The rate of verdicts and decisions which were scrapped or amended by the courts was 1.02%, within the limit set by the National Assembly.

There were no unfair verdicts issued during the January-June period, the court claimed.

While addressing civil and administrative cases, the courts have made efforts to minimise overdue cases and ensure the judgement quality.

The Supreme People’s Court piloted the renovation and intensification of reconciliation and dialogues in handling cases in the northern city of Hai Phong.

Reconciliation centres successfully mediated 61.4% of cases they received after three months of pilot implementation. The Supreme People’s Court will review the model after the six-month pilot, aiming to roll out the model nationwide.

However, there still remain limitations such as the low rate of handled administrative cases, the slow synchronous application of laws in some areas and staff shortages, heard the conference.

Additionally, Chief Judge of the Supreme People’s Court Nguyen Hoa Binh cleared up some issues of public concern in recent times.
