Story about a worker named “King of inventions”

PSNews-Hoang Duc Thao, Chairman cum General Director of Busadco One Member Co., Ltd, who used to be a poor worker without a collage certificate, has become a “phenomenon” in the business circle and has been also known as “King of Inventions” with 17 patents.

Born in 1960 from an under-privileged family in Thai Binh province, his childhood was full of difficulties and hardships. At the age of 19, he decided to move to Kien Giang and worked for Construction Company 10. With his passion for learning and researching new things and his creativity at work, he proposed to upgrade the iron cutter and change the design of the Ha Tien Concrete Factory’s foundations.

For the initiatives, he received a Certificate of Merits from the Minister of Construction and the provincial-level title “Soldier of Emulation”.

In 2003, he was promoted to be the -manager of the Drainage Company of Vung Tau or Busaco. At that time, Busadco had only 32 staff, with its capital of VND 10 billion and possessed outdated technology. Although leading the company, Thao still continued working in underground drains with his workers to clear up the flow despite bad smells and dirty discharges in the drains.

During the very hard working days in underground drains, an idea flashed through in his mind: a robot-like device to dredge underground drains.

After numerous trials, he finally succeeded in inventing such a device. The newly invented device could not only work 20 times more productively but also ensure safety for workers. Thanks to his endless efforts, Busadco has now become a leading company in terms of water supply and treatment, and urban development with its total assets valued at up to thousands of billions of VND. It is now the first science and technology company of Vietnam.

Over the past years, Busadco has managed to maintain a high growth rate, and reached the Top 500 of best-growth business in Vietnam. In addition to its headquarters in Vung Tau, the company has also invested building factories in Dong Anh (Hanoi), KienXuong (Thai Binh), Vinh (Nghe An), NhaTrang (KhanhHoa) and Ho Chi Minh City.
