The Poetry Day, providing a good chance for poets from all parts of the country to meet poem lovers, also saw the participation of many leaders, formers leaders of the Party and the State; and Ambassadors and cultural attaches of 15 countries to Vietnam.

On behalf of writers and poets, Head of the Vietnam Literature and Arts Huu Thinh delivered an opening speech, saying the enthusiastic participation of artists, poetry clubs and associations has turned the Day into a festival for poets and poem lovers from all over the country.
Over the past 14 years, hundreds of international poets from all continents have been invited to attend the event. They all highly appreciated the love for poetry and hospitality of the Vietnamese people, poet Huu Thinh said and added that leaders of many international literary organizations consider the Vietnam Poetry Day as one of the world's major poetry festivals.

Within the framework of the Vietnam Poetry Day, a photo exhibition, featuring outstanding Vietnamese poets and their works called “the road of poets (Con duong thi nhan)” was also held in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Vietnam Writers’ Association.
Alongside listening to recitation of poems and exchanging information with poets, visitors could enjoy a poetry music show. A special space was also designated for children’s poetry clubs.
