All domestic and foreign designers are eligible to participate in the contest.

After a month, the contest’s organizers have received over 200 entries, tripling that of the previous year.

According to statistics, this year’s contest participants vary in age, qualification and profession. Particularly, many young designers, born in 2000 to 200, boldly participated in the contest and were highly valued by the organizers.

In general, the designs are imbued with Vietnamese culture, featuring typical Vietnamese images and materials, say bamboo, lotus or traditional musical instruments.

All entries have been uploaded on the main fanpage of Miss Universe Vietnam at https://www.facebook.com/MissUniverseVietnam/, open for voting from anyone concerning.

The design with the highest vote will enter the Top 10 while the remaining 9 designs will be selected by the jury. The Top 10 designs will then compete in the final round from September 4 to 9. The three best designs will be realized under the support from famous Vietnamese designers, and will be introduced at the final round of the Miss Universe Vietnam 2017. The winning design will be worn by the Vietnamese candidate at the National Costume show of the Miss Universe 2017.

The national costume design contest will be held in parallel with Miss Universe Vietnam 2017.

The qualifier of the Miss Universe Vietnam 2017 will be held on September 6 and 7 at Savico Megamall (Hanoi) and September 10 and 11 at Grand Palace (Ho Chi Minh City).

It is expected that the semi-finals of the competition will take place from October 25 to November 4 while the final round will take place from November 5 to December 2 in Khanh Hoa, and the finale will be broadcast live on VTV1 on December 2.
