General To Lam, Minister of Public Security, on May 12 met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dang Minh Khoi, who was recently appointed as Vietnam’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Russia.

Minister To Lam congratulated the ambassador on his new position and highlighted that the cooperative relations between the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) of Vietnam and law enforcement agencies of Russia have developed positively in recent years in all areas. The two sides focused on exchanges of senior and expert delegations, cooperation in prevention and combat of economic, drug-related, high-tech crimes, as well as terrorism and cybersecurity.

Minister Lam expressed his hope that Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi on his new position would continue to cultivate the fine relations between Vietnam and Russia as well as the cooperation between the MPS and law enforcement agencies of Russia.

For his part, Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi shared his views on cooperation between Vietnam and Russia, as well as his plan to promote the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, and between the MPS and relevant agencies of Russia in the coming time.

At the same time, he expressed his hope that the MPS will continue to support the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia in advising the senior leaders of the two countries to discuss and give specific guidelines to solve issues in relations between the two countries.
