On the morning of July 1, the opening ceremony of the Agri-Industrial Attaché Office at the Argentine Embassy in Vietnam took place in Hanoi. According to Ambassador Marcos A. Bednarski, this is Argentina's sixth agri-industrial attaché office established abroad.

"Vietnam is an important partner for Argentina. Vietnam is Argentina's third largest partner in the region (after China and India) and seventh globally. Proof of the importance our country places on this market is the opening ceremony of the Agri-Industrial Attaché Office at the Argentine Embassy in Hanoi," Ambassador Marcos A. Bednarski emphasized.

Argentina and Vietnam have maintained a Comprehensive Partnership since 2010, with bilateral trade reaching US$4 billion in 2024. According to statistics from the General Department of Vietnam Customs, Argentina's exports to Vietnam increased by 40.4% from January to May 2025, while Vietnam's exports to Argentina surged by 243.6% compared to the same period in 2024. Total bilateral trade increased by 67.1%. Some product categories experienced exponential growth, such as mobile phones and components, which rose by 636%, and footwear, which increased by 146%.

Ambassador Marcos A. Bednarski stated that when Dr. Javier Milei assumed office as President of Argentina in December 2023, a very positive phase for the Argentine economy began, marked by a strong commitment to stabilizing macroeconomic variables and effectively controlling public spending. This transformation has opened the door to numerous business and investment opportunities.

"Argentina's exports increased by 7.2% and imports by 42.8%. I want to highlight two aspects: first, the aforementioned 31.8% growth in investment, referring to gross fixed capital formation, driven by the acquisition of machinery and equipment, which rose by 48.9%, and transportation, which increased by 74.7%, with imported goods predominating. This is a clear sign of the restructuring of productive capital, within the framework of strategic decision-making at the corporate level, betting on a more stable and expanding economy in the future," Ambassador Marcos A. Bednarski further informed, affirming that Vietnam has been an active part of this process for Argentina.

"A few weeks ago, the first shipment of Viettel-produced products arrived at the port of Buenos Aires: 560 km of fiber optic cable and 500 modems to be used for telecommunications improvement. This is the beginning of a new process... We are 17,000 km apart, but despite this, we have found ways for our bilateral trade to continue growing. In 2025, we will celebrate 52 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations. Personally, I believe this will be a successful year of growth, cooperation, mutual understanding, and alignment between complementary economies," Ambassador Marcos A. Bednarski emphasized.

Notably, to mark the opening of the Agri-Industrial Attaché Office at the Argentine Embassy in Vietnam, an Argentine trade delegation led by Agustín Tejeda Rodriguez, Undersecretary for Agrifood Markets and International Integration at the Ministry of Economy, along with representatives of Argentine food and beverage companies and organizations such as the Buenos Aires Cereal Exchange, the Poultry Processing Companies Center (CEPA), the Chamber of the Oil Industry and Cereal Exporters Center (CIARA - CEC), the Argentine Meat Processing Industry Federation (FIFRA), and the Argentine Beef Promotion Institute (IPCVA), visited and worked in Vietnam from June 30 to July 4.

During their nearly week-long visit, the delegation engaged in various activities, including meetings and discussions with leaders of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, organizing the "Argentina-Vietnam Business Opportunities" seminar, and B2B meetings between Argentine and Vietnamese companies in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to promote numerous bilateral cooperation programs in the agri-industrial sectors.
