Da Nang Asian Film Festival 2023 kicked off

PSNews - The festival has been kicked off with the theme of "Vietnam & Asia Cinema - Cooperation for Development", with the aim of helping the country's cinema industry to accelerate comprehensive integration, promote close international ties in culture and cinema, as well as developing the Vietnamese film industry. 

Da Nang Asian Film Festival 2023 kicked off -1

The Danang Asian Film Festival 2023 will last until May 13, with the event attracting the participation of Asian countries leading the way in cinema such as the Republic of Korea and Japan.

The festival has been kicked off with the theme of "Vietnam & Asia Cinema - Cooperation for Development", with the aim of helping the country's cinema industry to accelerate comprehensive integration, promote close international ties in culture and cinema, as well as developing the Vietnamese film industry. 

Speaking at the press conference in Da Nang, Ngo Thi Kim Yen, Vice Chairwoman of Da Nang City People's Committee, Head of the organising committee of the 1st Da Nang Asian Film Festival, 2023, said that the event is expected to offer an opportunity to elevate the image of Da Nang to both domestic and international friends, whilst developing tourism and service industries in the central city moving forward. 

During the festival, there will be an array of activities, including 89 film screenings and premieres of the film crews, a 3-night outdoor movie show at APEC Park, exchanges with famous Vietnamese artists, and workshops on "Developing the film industry - Building a favourable film-making environment in Da Nang” and "Japanese cinema-experience and direction of cooperation with Vietnam".

Winners of the Asian Film Award and Vietnamese Film Award categories will be honoured as a highlight of the event.

The special cultural event aims to select and honour excellent Vietnamese and Asia-pacific cinematographic works, introduce them to the public, and encourage the growth of emerging talents in the region.
