Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue visits flood-hit regions in Ha Tinh

PSNews – A high-ranking delegation of the Government led by Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue on September 7 visited and inquired after the people in Huong Khe, a flood-hit district in Ha Tinh Province.

In Huong Khe, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue visited and inquired after local needy and policy beneficiary families living in Phuong My Commune, who were terribly affected by the recent flooding. On behalf of the Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, he presented gifts to the local people.

During the recent flooding, Phuong My Commune was completely isolated. All crops of the commune were heavily damaged. Such a situation was also seen in some other communes and districts of Ha Tinh and Quang Binh Province due to the heavy consequences of the flooding and downpours in recent days.

In Ha Tinh Province, 323 schools could not hold a new academic year ceremony on September 5 because of flooding. As of September 7, only 41 schools were able to start their new academic year, but local teachers and students still have to clean up mud in classrooms. Meanwhile, all 61 schools of Huong Khe District have not opened the new academic year yet.

In order to help local people overcome consequences of the flooding, Military Zone 4 High Command has mobilized nearly 1,000 soldiers to support people, ensure safety for local people and property, and clean up mud after floods in Quang Binh, Ha Tinh and Thanh Hoa Province.

Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue praised the Party Committees and authorities of Ha Tinh and Quang Binh Province, as well as local armed forces and the Military Zone 4 High Command for their effort and support in helping local people overcome flood consequences.

The Deputy Prime Minister also asked functional forces to ensure absolute safety for people and their property, prepare medicines for possible epidemics and draw up plans to prevent environmental problems, make reports on losses to the Government for assistance.

Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue also asked armed forces to join hands with local people to clean up schools and classrooms so that the students could quickly start their school year.

Early, in order to support victims in flood-hit areas, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc decided to support each of Ha Tinh and Quang Binh provinces with 1,000 tonnes of rice.
