Dong Nai province has 31 industrial zones with approximately 1.2 million workers. According to Mr. Pham Van Cuong, Deputy Head of the Management Board of Dong Nai Industrial Zones, the current complicated situation of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country has increased the risk of infection in industrial zones.

Mr. Thai Bao, Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee said that, about 60% of workers in Dong Nai industrial zones come from other provinces and cities. Therefore, the local authority has directed relevant units to implement specific plans to prevent the pandemic in the local industrial zones, including plans to deal with scenarios in which workers are infected.

In particular, enterprises with 10,000 workers and more are asked to regularly clean and disinfect their workplaces. Enterprises must ask their workers on leaves to submit detailed health declarations before returning to work in an effort to prevent spread of the virus in the enterprises and the community.

In addition, the functional units of Dong Nai province also carry out regular inspections of COVID-19 prevention and control in industrial zones and enterprises, and strictly handle violations of the COVID-19 regulations.

At Dong Tien Garment Company (Amata Industrial Park, Bien Hoa City), employing over 4,000 workers, all workers have their body temperature tested at the gate .

Meanwhile, Changshin Vietnam Company uses thermal screening devices to check the body temperature of its over 40,000 employees every day at the factory’s entrance gate.

In some industrial zones, companies also ask their factories to closely monitor the health of their workers and quickly report the health center on any workers suffering cough, fever or other suspicious symptoms.
