Exhibition on foreign lands and people kicks off

PSNews – The photos captured the natural beauty, architectural sites, daily lives, cultural practices and portraits of people in 35 different countries and territories throughout the world.

On the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the Traditional Vietnamese Photography Day (March 15, 1953-2018), the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists (VAPA) held a photo festival on foreign lands and people through Vietnamese photographers’ eyes on March 17 at the Photo and Art Archive Center (No.2, Ton That Thuyet, Cau Giay, Hanoi).

At the opening ceremony, a representative of the organizing board said that, after two months of launching the contest (December 15, 2017-2018), they received nearly 1.800 artworks of 293 Vietnamese photographers. Of the entries, 135 photos have been chosen to display at the exhibition.

The photos captured the natural beauty, architectural sites, daily lives, cultural practices and portraits of people in 35 different countries and territories throughout the world.

Speaking at the ceremony, President of VAPA Vu Quoc Khanh stated that: “The photo exhibition on foreign lands and people through Vietnamese photographers’ eyes lively reflects one of the articles in the Decree 147/SL of President Ho Chi Minh in introducing daily life and achievements of other countries’ building process.”

The event is among the VAPA’s efforts to create a photo database of countries around the world, while tightening the solidarity among Vietnamese people and their international friends.

At the ceremony, the VAPA presented certificates of merit to its outstanding members in acknowledgement of their excellent work performance in 2017, as well as their significant contributions to the development of Vietnamese photography.
