PSNews - The 15th Festival of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ethnic Minorities in the Northwest will kick off in Phu Tho from December 2 - 4 with the theme "Cultural colors of ethnic groups in the Northwest".

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in collaboration with the Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee and other relevant ministries, branches and agencies will organize the 15th Festival of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ethnic Minorities in the Northwest from December 2 - 4 with the theme "Cultural colors of ethnic groups in the Northwest".

The Opening Ceremony The festival with the theme”Rainbow on the Land of Ancestors" will take place on the evening of December 2 at Hung Vuong Square, Viet Tri City. The festival will include a wide range of attractive activities such as incense offering ceremony at Hung temple historic site, art performances, traditional cuisine exhibition, photo contest, etc.

The festival aims at honoring the fine traditional cultural values of the peoples of the Northwest region in the unified and diverse culture of the community of 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam. It also creates an opportunity for artisans, actors and athletes to exchange experiences, raise awareness on promoting traditional cultural values in the period of integration and development of the country.

Earlier, the “Great Solidarity of Ethnic Groups- Vietnamese Cultural Heritage Week 2022" took place at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in Hanoi from November 18-23, featuring a wide range of activities.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee jointly hosted the event, which aimed to promote the national solidarity spirit; and honour, preserve and promote values of cultural heritage of the 54 ethnic groups in the country, contributing to building an advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity.
