In 2021, the Hung Yen’s longan output is expected to reach 50,000 to 55,000 tons. The local authority has organized many trade promotion activities to support the sales of longan and other local agricultural products.
In particular, from July 15, Hung Yen longan officially started to be sold on the e-commerce platform of Postmart.vn.
Earlier, in June, Vietnam Post in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development held training sessions for Hung Yen longan growers on how to sell products on e-commerce platforms.
Post workers also came to Hung Yen longan farms to guide people to post their products online.
Currently, Vietnam Post has supported 400 longan farmers in Hung Yen to sell the fruit on Postmart.vn.
The Postmart e-commerce platform serves as a stable trading channel for local farmers, helping them sell not only the seasonal fruit, but also other products. Vietnam Post’s effort has also contributed to digital transformation in agriculture and rural areas.
On July 15, the Ministry of Trade and Industry in collaboration with the Hung Yen Provincial People’s Committee also held a teleconference to promote the sales of longan and other local agricultural products of Hung Yen.
Within the conference, some major e-commerce platforms in Vietnam, including Postmart.vn, have signed a cooperation agreement to support the sales of Hung Yen longan and other agricultural products on e-commerce platforms.
