The exhibition offers visitors a unique opportunity to witness the blend of creativity, craftsmanship and innovation of Israeli artistry in a spectacular display of shoe design mastery. 24 productions of Kobi Levi represents a diverse range of his iconic creations, including the Chewing-gum design worn by Fergie in her MV “M.I.L.F.$”.
Kobi Levi is known for his distinctive and visionary approach to footwear that draws inspiration from a myriad of sources such as humor and everyday life. His shoes reflect the shapes of a random object, an animal or human interactions, which surprise people and make them rethink how and why things are the way they are. The manually-produced shoes render exclusiveness while evoke thoughts on origins and imaginations, all while asserting that art does not have to be serious to be profound.
Graduating from the Bezalel Academy of Art & Design in Jerusalem, Kobi Levi started his own design studio in Tel Aviv, showcasing early creations on a personal blog that later catapulted him to global attention. His design then left their marks in displays in The Netherlands, Britain, Hong Kong, the USA and many more. Entertainments stars, from Lady Gaga, Whoopie Goldberg to Netta Barzily, adorned Kobi Levi’s footwear art in their performances.
Along with FootWearArt, he will rock the runway of the Vietnam International Fashion Week this July.
