JDS application in 2019 open for Vietnamese young government officials

Mid-August 2019, the Ministry of Education and Training of Viet Nam, the Embassy of Japan in Viet Nam and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) launched the application of the Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship by Japanese Grant Aid (JDS) 2019.

JDS application in 2019 is now open for Vietnamese young, highly capable government officials who are expected to contribute to the socio-economic development of Viet Nam. 

JDS provides full scholarships including tuition fee, flight tickets, monthly scholarship and the other allowances funded by the Government of Japan through Official Development Assistance (ODA). 

The Program has started in Viet Nam since 2000 and has dispatched 633 Vietnamese fellows to Japan. 

Within the JDS framework for Vietnam in the period of 2018 - 2021, JDS in 2019 provides scholarship for two-year master’s courses in various study fields including Economics, Urban Development, Energy, Agriculture, Environment, Legal System, and Public Administration at Japanese universities. 

The instruction at Japanese graduate schools will be provided in English and JDS fellows are supposed to write thesis papers in English. 

The application deadline is 17:00 October 29, 2019. Up to 60 final successful candidates will be selected by March 2020 and be dispatched to Japan in August 2020. 

JDS Information Sessions will be held in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Da Nang, Quang Tri, Quang Binh, Quang Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Nam Dinh, and Hai Phong in August and September 2019.
