PetroVietnam opens photo exhibition on “60 years of petroleum industry implementing Uncle Ho's will”

PSNews – PetroVietnam (the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group) on July 12 launched the photo exhibition named “60 years of petroleum industry implementing Uncle Ho's will” in Hanoi.

This is one of the activities of PetroVietnam to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Vietnam oil and gas industry implementing Uncle Ho's will (July 23, 1959 - 2019).

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Tran Sy Thanh, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the PetroVietnam Central Party Committee and Chairman of PetroVietnam recalled the historical tradition of the Vietnam oil and gas industry.

60 years ago, during a visit to the Oil Industrial Zone in Bacu – Azerbaijan, President Ho Chi Minh suggested: “"After Vietnam successfully won the resistance war, the Soviet Union in general and Azerbaijan in particular should help Vietnam to build strong oil and gas industrial zones”.

The statement represents not only the belief of Uncle Ho, but also the aspiration of the Vietnamese people, and a guiding star for PetroVietnam has followed during its construction and development.

After that, Oil Exploration Team No. 36 was established on November 27, 1961. On September 3, 1975, the Vietnam Oil and Gas General Department, the predecessor of PetroVietnam, was also established.

Over the past 60 years implementing the will of the beloved Uncle Ho, generations of the leaders, officers and workers of PetroVietnam have tried their best, overcome numerous difficulties and developed a complete and developing oil and gas industry.

PetroVietnam nowadays affirms its position as a key economic group, making important contributions to the annual State Budget, contributing to regulating macroeconomic stability, while ensuring national energy security and taking part in protecting national sovereignty over the country’s maritime territory.

The photo exhibition “60 years of petroleum industry implementing Uncle Ho's will” displays 79 photos, representing the care of the Party and Uncle to the oil and gas industry, as well as the contribution of generations of PetroVietnam officers and workers.

The exhibition consists of 4 main topics, namely: Trans-century vision, Construction and development, Going with national development, Oil and gas people’s pride.
