Immigration Department rolls out working plan for next year

PSNews - The Immigration Department under Ministry of Public Security recently held a meeting to review its task performance in 2020 and roll out its working plan for 2021.

The event was chaired by Director of Immigration Department, Major General Quach Huy Hoang and saw the presence of Deputy Minister of Public Security, Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang.

In 2020, the Immigration Department has proactively fought against illegal entry into and exit from Vietnam as well as effectively handled violations of the immigration laws, contributing to ensuring national security and social order.

Particularly, it has strictly managed the entry and exit at border gates in order to control the spread of Covid-19 into Vietnam while advising the Government on the implementation of immigration policies and promptly supporting the entry of foreign investors, experts, and skilled workers to Vietnam to serve national socio-economic development.

Additionally, the Party organization of the department successfully organized its Party congress.

Addressing the meeting, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang requested the Immigration Department to strengthen the management of immigration and guide grassroots-level police forces to manage foreigners' residence in their localities. 

The immigration sector should also promptly detect and resolutely handle all foreigners as well as Vietnamese citizens who illegally enter and exit the country, or who enter the country violating quarantine and pandemic prevention regulations, in order to ensure an absolutely safe environment for economic recovery and important political events in Vietnam.
