Strengthening the Party begins from every member

The public appreciates the 4th session of the 12th Party Central Committee (PCC) for its candid assessment of degradation in political ideology, morality, and lifestyle, as well as “self-evolution”, and “self-transformation” within the Party.

People nationwide expect that in order to strengthen the Party, every Party member should promote the sense of self-discipline in implementing the resolution on Party building.

Most of the opinions say it’s necessary to look straight into the truth to find out the cause of degradation of political ideology, morality, and lifestyle in apart of Party members. If there is no resolute determination to root out the problems, Party building measures would not gain effective results and they are just temporary measures.

Be more resolute in Party building

The public and Party members say the 4th session of the 12th Party Central Committee has summarized and upheld lessons from the 4th session of the 11th Party Central Committee in building and strengthening the Party to issue a resolution that is close to reality. It targets to improve the enforcement and efficiency of anti-corruption and red-tape activities and improve people’s trust in the Party.

Professor, Doctor Tran Ngoc Duong, Former Deputy Head of the National Assembly’s Office said “The people trust the Party’s leadership. If the Party doesn’t take drastic measures, society will be misguided in combating corruption and building the Party. The public supports the Party’s resolution to build a stronger Vietnam in the new period. I expect that with this resolution, Party building will be elevated to a new quality level.”

Bui Quang Huy, former Deputy Head of the Southwestern Steering Committee, supports the cause of Party building and strengthening. “I’m glad to see the outcome of the session. The Party General Secretary said the session aimed to strengthen the Party and improve the quality of Party members at all levels. It aims to purify the Party and avoid degradation of political ideology, morality, and lifestyle and self-evolution”, said Mr Huy.

Pham Xuan Hang, a member of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, says “The meeting identified that the Party Central Committee has to take more effective and stronger actions because the Party General Secretary said “group interests” is like a matrix which is difficult to resolve. The Central Committee on Anti-corruption should have specific measures to win people’s trust. If we hesitate and avoid problems, the resolution will gain nothing.”

Party building begins from every member

Analyzing “self-evolution” and “self-transformation” within the Party, Doctor Nguyen Viet Chuc, former vice Chairman of the National Assembly’s Committee of Culture, Education, Youth, and Children, says it’s necessary to keep the Party unblemished, improve its performance, and gain people’s trust.

If Party members don’t improve themselves, moral and lifestyle degradation will lead to self-evolution and self-transformation. “The resolution sets that every Party member has to train themselves in difficult circumstances. If the Party members haven’t fulfilled their duty, it’s self-transformation.”

Former deputy chief of staff of the Naval Force, Colonel Trinh Khac Thuyet has been a Party member for 65 years. “Leaders at all levels should be moral examples for their sub-ordinates.

The leaders should talk and act together and review their actions as right or wrong. President Ho Chi Minh said it’s necessary to do to the last and the final result. It’s the spirit of Party building”, said Mr Thuyet.

Only when every Party member fulfills their mission, there is a good and strong Party unit. In order to make people trust in and follow the Party, Party building should begins with every Party member.
