“Sympathetic hearts” music program to ease pain of disabled children

PSNews – The 9th “Sympathetic hearts” art program hosted by the Family and Children Magazine in association with the National Assembly Television, the Hanoi former Youth Volunteer Association, the Hanoi Red Cross and Capital Media Company will take place at 8 pm on August 26th at the Au Co Art Center, Hanoi.

The beginning part of the program entitled “The unfortunate lives” will portrait the stories of some unlucky people in need of social support.

One of the to-be-presented cases is 2 children with congenital cerebral palsy living in Trang An, Hoa Lu, Ninh Binh. For the past 10 years, their parents have had to borrow hundreds of millions of VND to continue the treatment of their children although they have earned unstable incomes from construction work.

The program will also present the case of Hoang Van Hue (residing in Hien Giang commune, Thuong Tin, Hanoi), who is a wounded soldier losing 81% of his heath and used to be exposed to dioxin (Agent Orange). He has two children born with cerebral palsy due to his exposure to Agent Orange during wartime.

Meanwhile, art performances will see the participation of famous Vietnamese singers.

During the event, the organizers and donors will present 100 savings books to children suffering from serious illnesses, orphans and victims of Agent Orange; hand 500 packs of gifts to orphans at the Cao Bang Provincial Social Protection Center and victims of Agent Orange at the Vietnam Friendship Village, totally worth more than 600 million VND.

After the 9 charity programs, the organizers of the "Sympathetic hearts" program and donors have supported humanitarian heart surgery for more than 100 needy children with congenital heart diseases; built 30 houses for orphans; donated more than 1,000 savings books to children suffering from serious illnesses and victims of Agent Orange.

So far, the program's organizers and donors have also presented more than 1,000 scholarships to poor children and handed more than 8,000 packs of gifts to others with a total value of over 22 billion VND.
