Uncle Ho's historical moments with Soviet people

PSNews - On the occasion of the 127th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh, the Russian Center for Science and Culture on May 19 cooperated with the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association to open a photo exhibition "Ho Chi Minh –The winner".

The exhibition "Ho Chi Minh - The Winner" displays many valuable photographs recording historic moments when President Ho Chi Minh met with his Soviet comrades and people throughout his life. Some photos were taken when he met the delegation of the Soviet Union in Vietnam.

Alongside the photo exhibition, the Russian Center for Science and Technology also screened a short film with some historical shots, filmed by famous documentary filmmaker Roman Karmen in Vietnam.

People had a chance watching rare footages made on the color documentary techniques 60 years ago about President Ho Chi Minh. The original film with the voice-over of Russian is subtitled in Vietnamese

In less than 10 minutes, the short film features Vietnam, a country of rich culture with resilient and indomitable people, and portrays a wise, kind, simple and modest Ho Chi Minh but also the great leader of the Vietnamese people.

Speaking at the ceremony, representative of the Russian Cultural and Science Center Natalia Safinskaya affirmed that President Ho Chi Minh himself built and strengthened the friendship between Vietnam and the former Soviet Union and the current Russian Federation. She also expressed her respect for "a great man who has devoted his whole life to liberate his nation from the colonial yoke and build a free and united Vietnam."

On the same day, at the Center an award ceremony of a quiz contest entitled "What do I know about Russia?" was held. The quiz took place from April 10 to May 10 with the participation of more than 200 teachers, students, and Russia loving people in Vietnam.
