Vietnam - US friendship music night to be held on October 29

PSNews - The musical works that have been staged across the world and sounded in many famous films will be performed at the Vietnam - US Friendship Music Night.

The event will take place on October 29 at the Ho Chi Minh city Opera House.

The program is organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Ballet Symphony Orchestra and Opera in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations and Vietnam-US Friendship Association in Ho Chi Minh City.

The night will be started with the overture of the opera “Candide”, an adaptation of a literature work of French writer Voltaire. The opera was commenced on Broadway stage for the first time in 1956.

The night was followed by a series of movie music pieaces, such as Theme – Jewish Town – Remembrances in the movie “Schindler’s List”, and The Chairman’s Waltz in the movie “Memory of a Geisha” and Tango in “Scent of a Woman”.

The second part of the night will see Hector Guzman, US music conductor and HBSO orchestra will perform Sergei Rachmaninov’s Symphony No.2 which was played in Birdman – the 2015 Oscar feature film winner.

The Vietnam-US music night will also saw acclaimed Vietnamese-American violinist Vu Viet Chuong  playing in the first part and the participations of artists from the Ho Chi Minh City Ballet Symphony Orchestra and Opera.

During the night, the audience will see the creativity in the expressive language of symphonic music during the 20-21st centuries, which is seen as a breakthrough in modern forms of entertainment.

The concert will be a new wave of music, showing the different beauty of music, and the values of the academic music and popular music for entertainment that will satisfy all classical music lovers in Ho Chi Minh City.
