1,200 security cameras operate effectively in Ha Tinh City

PSNews -  In order to ensure security and order in locality, over the past 5 years, the police force of Ha Tinh City has coordinated with relevant units to install 1,187 security cameras and set up 15 surveilliance camera systems across the city.

Nam Ha ward is one of the central areas of Ha Tinh city with many important and popular venues. However, burglaries and robberies had happened in the locality for the past many years, risking and complicating the local security situation.

In order to raise people's consciousness of self-protection of asserts, contributing to preventing crimes, in 2017, the Ha Tinh Municipal Police Department in collaboration with the People’s Committee of Nam Ha ward have mobilized local households and business establishments living near major roads to install in security cameras.

This would help to protect their assets and also provide important photos and data for the police force in time to conduct investigation into the case.

The security cameras system have helped local people to prevent burglaries and robberies.

The local residents of Nam Ha ward then have contributed over 300 million VND to install 65 cameras on many streets of the ward.

"The security camera system serves as efficient aids that help the police force successfully crack down on many robbery cases, arrest criminals and return lost assets to people”, said Lieutenant Colonel Phan Huy Ha, Head of the Nam Ha Ward Police.

The local police force then replicated this model in other areas, especially in areas with complex security and order situations.

The local police force in collaboration with functional forces had earlier conducted careful surveys on locations to install the security cameras. The camera locations are at the boundary of administrative zones, crossroads, junctions, residential areas, market areas, hot spots of security and order.

After mass mobilization drives conducted by the local authority and police force, most local residents contributed money to the installation of security cameras.

After 5 years, 15 wards and communes of Ha Tinh City have installed 1,187 security cameras with a total cost of over 4 billion VND.

Major Colonel Tran Quang Dat, Deputy Head of the Ha Tinh Municipal Police Department affirmed that the security camera model has brought about many practical results, contributing to ensuring the security and order in the district and promoting local socio-economic development.

Moreover, these security cameras have helped local people to prevent burglaries and robberies. Besides, the security cameras also serve as "magical security eyes" that help the local police to quickly investigate and handle criminal cases.

According to Major Colonel Dat, the camera security model is an effective solution that combines professional prevention and social prevention while contributing effectively to fighting crime. It facilitates security and order and mobilizes social strength for the movement “All people protecting National Security.”
