The event aimed to evaluate the work results of the hospital in the past time and discuss orientations for its key tasks and approaches to improve the quality and efficiency of the hospital's operations in the coming time.
Deputy Minister of Public Security Major General Le Van Tuyen as well as representatives from relevant agencies of the MPS joined the delegation.
Briefing the minister and other delegates on the work results of the hospital, Director of the 19-8 Hospital Senior Colonel Hoang Thanh Tuyen stated, over the past time, the 19-8 Hospital leadership has directed all subunits to take synchronous measures to improve the quality of its professional work.
The hospital has accurately diagnosed and successfully treated various complex and serious diseases, emergency cases of heart, kidney, joint, digestive, neurological, infectious diseases, such as myocardial infarction, acute pulmonary edema, respiratory failure, multi-organ failure and cerebral stroke.
The hospital has also invested in gastrointestinal endoscopy equipment, severe patient monitoring system, multi-function ventilator, and improved medical techniques.
Regarding surgery, the hospital has performed over 5,400 surgeries of all kinds. In particular, the hospital's medical team has successfully performed the 29th kidney transplant in June 2022.
In addition, the hospital has continuously renovated its health examination and treatment services while creating favorable conditions for public security senior officers in the Northern region to access high-quality medical services and advanced treatment methods.
The hospital also sent its doctors and nurses to support epidemic hotspots, ran the K02 field hospital in Chuong My district, Hanoi and other Covid-19 patient treatment facilities.
Speaking at the meeting, Minister To Lam acknowledged and applauded the good work results, achievements and positive changes of the 19-8 Hospital in the past years, saying that the hospital has shown signs of realizing its goal of developing a modern, model hospital, on par with other central-level hospitals and is consolidating trust of public security officers and people as well as its brand in the health industry.
Minister To Lam requested, the 19-8 Hospital is one of the leading medical examination, treatment and health care facilities of the Ministry of Public Security should attach much importance to developing a corps of medical workers with excellent professional expertise and good working ethics, meeting an increasing need for health examination and treatment of public security officers and people, and matching the operation of the entire Public Security Forces in the current context.
The minister also urged the hospital to expand cooperation and professional exchange with prestigious domestic and foreign medical training institutions and hospitals to improve its health examination and treatment capacity, modernize technology and treat complex disease.
“The hospital should strive to become a special-class hospital with its professional capabilities on a par with other central-level hospitals nationwide, in the near future,” said Minister To Lam.
