2025 Firefighting and Rescue Skills Competition Final takes place in Hanoi

PSNews - The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) organized the opening ceremony of the Final Round of the 2025 Firefighting and Rescue Skills Competition on May 30, in Hanoi.

Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Le Van Tuyen attended and delivered a keynote speech at the ceremony. The tourney’s final round included 18 outstanding teams from the fire and rescue police units of provincial and municipal police departments nationwide.

In his opening remarks, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen underscored that in order to meet the requirements of practical operations, the Fire and Rescue Police Force, as a core frontline professional force in firefighting and rescue, should undergo regular training to continuously improve their expertise and operational skills.

The Deputy Minister said that such a competition not only serves as a stage for the participating professional firefighters to demonstrate their professional skills and determination, but also offers a valuable opportunity for fire and rescue units and officers to exchange experience, enhance their capabilities, and improve their readiness for fires, explosions, accidents and emergencies.

It also provides a basis for MPS leaders to evaluate the effectiveness of the training and combat readiness of the Fire and Rescue Police Force, he added.

The Deputy Minister expressed his confidence that, with a strong sense of sportsmanship and determination, all participating officers would deliver outstanding performances, clearly demonstrating their proficient techniques and tactics, contributing to reaffirming the bravery, professionalism and operational competence of the Fire and Rescue Police Force.

Athletes participate in 4x100m firefighters relay.

On the morning of May 30, participating teams competed in the 4x100m firefighters relay event held at the square of the My Dinh National Stadium.

Earlier, on May 29, the teams competed in two categories, namely “Firefighting and Rescue Command” held at the Bac Tu Liem District Cultural House, and “Water Rescue” held at the My Dinh Aquatic Sports Center.

At the end of the competition, the Organizing Committee awarded the “Best team” prize to the Hanoi City Police Department team, while teams from the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department and the University of Fire Prevention and Fighting were ranked second and third, respectively.
