23rd Congress of the Youth Union of the Ministry of Public Security convened

After two days, the 23rd Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union chapter of the Ministry of Public Security for the 2025–2030 term closed, successfully completing its agenda.

At the official session on December 16, the delegates reviewed and assessed all youth affairs and youth movements carried out by the public security Youth Union chapter during the 2022–2025 term; discussed directions and tasks for the 2025–2030 term; evaluated the leadership performance of the Public Security Youth Committee of the 22nd term; and gave opinions to the draft documents of the 13th National Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

On behalf of the Ministry of Public Security, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Central Public Security Party Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security attended the event while  Bui Quang Huy, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee and First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union was present at the meeting.

In his opening remarks, Colonel Dong Duc Vu, Head of the Public Security Youth Committee, stated that, in recent years, young officers of the Ministry of Public Security have brought into full play their pioneering and creative spirit, restlessly striving to successfully accomplish their tasks and reached the objectives set out in the Action Program on Youth Union work and the youth movement of the People’s Public Security Forces.

Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To presents a ceremonial banner to the youth of the People’s Public Security Forces. The banner bears the sentence: “Youth of the People’s Public Security Forces: Following Uncle Ho’s teachings – Being disciplined and loyal; Pioneering and achieving merits – For the Party and for the People”.

Outstanding young public security officers and groups have achieved remarkable outcomes in their study, training and professional work. They all have been rewarded by the Party, the State, the Ministry of Public Security, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, as well as other ministries, branches and local authorities.

In his remarks, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To emphasized that, in recent times, young officers of the People’s Public Security Forces, together with youth nationwide and youth from other countries with traditional relations with Vietnam have organized numerous practical activities and volunteered to do tough tasks, work in remote, disadvantaged and most difficult areas. By so doing, they have made important contributions to national construction and defense as well as to the socio-economic development of Vietnam.

Young officers have also actively participated in United Nations peacekeeping operations in war-torn countries.

Regarding the tasks of the public security youth in the coming period, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To called on all young officers to continue enhancing the role, position and importance of youth in the social community, domestically and internationally.

“The Central Public Security Party Committee and the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security has determined to strengthen leadership over and improve the effectiveness of youth work in the People’s Public Security Forces. At the same time, each Youth Union member and Youth Union chapter in the People’s Public Security Forces should understand their position, role, and mission, thereby upholding their sense of responsibility for the cause of ensuring security and defending the Fatherland”, he stated.

Speaking at the congress, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Bui Quang Huy acknowledged and commended the achievement of the youth of the People’s Public Security Forces in recent times, and expressed strong agreement with the directions and key tasks set by the congress.

He asked Youth Union organizations at all levels within the People’s Public Security Forces to promote their pioneering and creative identity; firmly maintain political steadfastness; and remain ready to undertake difficult and new tasks, striving to excellently fulfill all assigned duties with concrete results.

At the congress, a ceremony was held to announce and present the decision of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union on the appointment of the Public Security Youth Committee for the 23rd term of 2025–2030. The committee consists of 23 members, and Colonel Dong Duc Vu was appointed as Head of the committee, while Lieutenant Colonel Bach Quoc Tuyen and Major Dau Ba Tuan were appointed Deputy Heads of the committee.
